Dr. Ayush Jain completed his MBBS at Manipal University, followed by an MD at RNT Medical College, Udaipur. Through the pandemic he served on the front line of a dedicated COVID emergency unit — an experience that sharpened his clinical instinct for the sickest patients.

He went on to serve as Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at a government medical college, before completing his DM in Hepatology at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS), New Delhi — India’s premier liver institute.

His clinical work centres on critical-care hepatology and portal hypertension, with a procedural practice spanning upper GI endoscopy, shear-wave elastography, body-composition analysis, and integrated interventional-radiology support.

Dr. Jain is the first dedicated hepatologist serving Ajmer and the surrounding districts, and is currently establishing a specialised liver unit at Aryabhatta Hospital.

Areas of Expertise

Built for the complex liver.

A practice grounded in the most demanding training in Indian hepatology — focused on the conditions where specialist care changes outcomes.

Critical-Care Hepatology

Acute liver failure, decompensated cirrhosis, hepatic encephalopathy, and ICU-level liver care.

Portal Hypertension

Variceal screening and banding; ascites, SBP, hepatorenal and hepatopulmonary syndromes.

Cirrhosis & Its Complications

Comprehensive management of chronic liver disease and the complications it brings — bleeds, encephalopathy, infections, malnutrition.

Fatty Liver & Metabolic Disorders

NAFLD/MASLD diagnosis, staging, and reversal; metabolic dysfunction, insulin resistance, and the lean fatty-liver pattern.

Alcohol-Related Liver Disease

From early steatosis to alcoholic hepatitis and ARLD cirrhosis — including non-judgmental cessation support and family counselling.

Liver Failure & Transplant Care

Acute and acute-on-chronic liver failure, transplant work-up and listing coordination, post-transplant follow-up.

GI Bleeding & Emergency Liver Care

Same-day variceal bleed management, acute decompensation, and emergency hepatology consults.

Where you are on the curve

Liver fibrosis, staged.

Most liver disease is reversible before stage F4. Knowing precisely where you sit on this scale changes the entire conversation — and we can almost always find out without a biopsy.

Procedures & Diagnostics

Hands-on, where it matters.

A diagnostic and therapeutic toolkit usually only available at tertiary centres — now available locally in Ajmer.

Diagnostic & Therapeutic Endoscopy

Upper GI endoscopy for variceal screening and banding, ulcer haemostasis, foreign-body removal, dilatation.

Liver Biopsy — Transjugular & Percutaneous

Both routes available: transjugular for high-risk patients with coagulopathy or ascites; percutaneous when standard.

Shear-Wave Elastography

Painless, ten-minute non-invasive scan to measure liver stiffness and stage fibrosis without needles.

Body-Composition Analysis

Quantitative sarcopenia and nutritional assessment — quietly decisive in chronic liver disease outcomes.

Radiologic Procedures

Image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic interventions for liver and biliary disease.

Interventional Radiology Support

Coordinated TIPS, biliary drainage, ablation, and embolisation pathways with IR colleagues.

Approach

“Treatment that finds the cause before it suppresses the symptom — evidence-based, root-cause hepatology.”

— Dr. Ayush Jain

Areas of Interest

Beyond the consultation room.

A clinician-public-health hybrid practice — equally invested in catching disease early as in treating it well.

    Preventive Hepatology

Routine screening, family-risk assessment, and intervention years before a problem becomes a diagnosis.

  2. 02

    Early Diagnosis & Lifestyle Intervention

Catching liver disease at a stage where it is still reversible — and giving patients a realistic plan to reverse it.

    Personalised Dietary Guidance

Liver-specific nutrition for fatty liver, cirrhosis, and post-transplant patients — built around Indian kitchens.

  4. 04

    Public Education on Social Media

Active outreach via Instagram and community talks. Liver health, in plain language. (@livertalkswith_dr_ayush)

    Local Access to Advanced Care

Bringing tertiary-grade liver diagnostics and procedures to Ajmer — so the district doesn’t have to travel for care.

A First for Ajmer

The first specialised liver unit for the district.

Until now, patients across Ajmer and the surrounding districts have had to travel to Delhi or Jaipur for advanced liver care. Dr. Jain is changing that — establishing the district’s first specialised liver unit, equipped for endoscopy, elastography, transjugular and percutaneous biopsy, body-composition analysis, and integrated interventional-radiology support. Comprehensive, advanced, local.
