Cirrhosis

Advanced liver scarring. Modern hepatology can dramatically slow progression and prevent complications.

Symptoms to watch
  • Swelling of legs / abdomen (ascites)
  • Easy bruising or bleeding
  • Confusion or sleep reversal
  • Jaundice
  • Vomiting blood / black stools
Our approach
  1. 01Identify and treat the underlying cause (alcohol, viral, MASH, autoimmune, metabolic)
  2. 02Variceal screening and banding via upper GI endoscopy
  3. 03Ascites and SBP management; HE prevention
  4. 04Nutrition + sarcopenia management — outcome-defining
  5. 05Transplant evaluation when indicated
Common questions

Can cirrhosis be reversed?

Compensated cirrhosis can sometimes regress when the cause is removed early (e.g. cured hepatitis C, alcohol abstinence). The goal is always to prevent decompensation.
